In 2011, the art world was shocked by the rediscovery of a new Leonardo. A painting known as Salvator Mundi (Savior of the World) was accepted by most scholars as being an authentic Leonardo. It had been damaged, overpainted and heavily varnished. Personally I think it’s pretty weird.
